dream log 012911
Very few memories of dreams this month. I don't sleep enough. Tough work schedule. On the weekends, I go to work later in the morning so a few dreams slip in.Last night I dreamt my whole family lived in my house. My father was there too, although he'd passed on over a decade ago. The house had moved to the desert. I could tell because of the sense of light or brightness that hangs with you even after you are indoors, as if one has a solar cell behind the eyes. You don't feel that here in the NW. A friend is stopping by. He shows up but isn't himself, but is instead my old stalker "friend". I think he is a bit rude because he doesn't even knock, and just wanders through the house. That was the whole dream.
Neither of those friends were from the desert in Arizona, but from Texas. I loved the feeling of light. It seemed the environment was the most important part of the dream.
old songs
Daniel, my brother, you are older than me...Isn't facebook odd? How does it know who I might know from 35-40 years ago, who isn't a relative or from school, or the friend of a friend. Must be the friend of a friend of a friend. It's not that he contacted me or anything. Just a "you might know, so and so" thing on the computer. It was so strange to see his face and name on the computer.
I also got a call on my TV a few months back...Xfinity said that an old friend who can't be calling was ringing the phone. It was ringing, and I just stared at it, like some weird dream. It must have been someone from the same State with the same name.
I should be braver, and just answer.
moving on down the road
The last dream was about tracking the movement of an old rusted truck that was parked on the side of a highway. I kept measuring the rapidly changing distance and angle of the vehicle. At least, the measurements were changing rapidly, which made me think that the truck must be moving. There were monkeys in the road. I attempted to get them to handle some of the equipment, and could visibily see their individual attention spans hovering over their heads. A little light would flicker for a moment and "poof" it was gone. The monkeys were running amok. It was very frustrating. What’s up or down in Arkansas?
I spent the night googling news and opinions on the 4000 blackbirds that fell from the sky. What do you suppose occurred? After reading it all, I think it must have been a freak weather event, although a news article said the bad weather had already moved on. They also had 100,000 drum fish dead, likely from disease, but all at once, and only one type of fish. I tried to see if there was some sort of distinct difference between fish populations, but found nothing online. The area has also been in the news often the past few months because of earthquake swarms.
My movie addled mind and blog discussion board reading causes me to imagine the blackbirds rising up out of an ancient caldera just before it explodes (2012) only to be whacked by an invisible spaceship (Signs)...the true star whackers.
j/k. Two years ago, there was a similar occurrence with birds that dropped dead in a neighborhood in New Jersey. In that instance, it was later reported that the birds were poisoned as part of a program to control the population. However, they have reported no toxins found in this event. It was around 11:30 at night, when the birds are normally asleep.
I should be sleeping.
dream images
Not remembering much from dreams except images. They are detailed, precise fine designs of white dragons. The best way to describe them is to imagine paper cutouts of snowflakes, only the fine laser cut type you might see from China in a craft store. There's no sound. They move. There was one creature of significance. A small bright, sapphire blue crystal snake, coiled like a tiny bit of dog doo, but it is alive and is not harmless, poison. When I was young, the vivid blue of particular objects were a reason to pay attention. It is all really lovely, but holds no meaning for me. Perhaps the snake is about illness - bad food? We either have the flu or bit of food poisoning around here, yet.
We had a strange storm here late Sunday, over the space of about 20 minutes. The cable crashed, and there was such a racket that I went outside. I really should know better growing up in the plains. The wind was roaring and it was hailing very hard. I thought, "well, this is worse than the weekend storm." I hadn't heard about another storm coming through. I walked back in and the wind sucked the doorknob out of my hand and slammed the door after me. Like magic, a few moments later, it was totally still. The world seemed so quiet. I wondered if we always hear a level of noise, when the computer lines and TVs are plugged in (even when not on). I arrived at work early the next day, because it bugs me now not to hear news in the morning, and found other people very early, for the same reason.
The report on the weather described the wind picking up to 70mph for the timeframe. No damage around here. We have been very fortunate on the coast.
