What Customers Want
Dear Store Clerk,
- Don’t expect me to say “Hi” back when you greet me.
- Don’t ask me if you can help me find something.
- Don’t follow me around the store.
- Make sure all items display a price.
- Make sure you have in stock what you advertise.
- Be at the register when I get there.
- Don’t make me guess which register is open.
- Open a new register when there are lots of people in line.
- Don’t socialize or use the phone while I wait.
- Don’t chat with the person in front of me while I wait.
- Don’t flirt with the other employees while you check me out.
- Don’t ask me if I want “fries with that”.
- Ring my purchases at the correct price.
- Make sure I get the sale price if something is on sale.
- Don’t send another employee to check the price on something.
- Don’t ask for personal information or send me more junk mail.
- Learn how to make change without looking at the register.
- Have change for a 20 (and not in dollars and dimes).
- Give me the correct change.
- Correct your own errors without calling the manager.
- Be nice when I come back for a refund or exchange.
- And don’t ask me “Are you back again?” (ha ha). Not funny!
Thanks,
A Customer
